Biography
Anoushbard is a metal band from Iran, founded in 2017 by Sherwin Baradaran and Siavash Motallebi. The band’s name comes from “Anoushbard,” a political prison in the Sasanian Empire (224–651 AD), which means a place where one forgets their identity and disappears forever. The name reflects the band’s deep interest in the history of their country and their Persian roots.
Anoushbard began in a small home studio, where Sherwin and Siavash decided to record their first album, Mithra, which was released in January 2020. The debut album, consisting of six tracks, showcased a highly unique identity. Even at this early stage, the band had already found their own distinctive and fascinating style.
Between 2020 and 2023, Anoushbard worked on their second album, Abandoned Treasure, which was released in 2023. Like the first album, it was a great success, garnering attention and interviews from around the world. The band had the opportunity to collaborate with the PR agency Metal Message to promote the album.
In October 2023, Siavash left the band due to personal differences with Sherwin, but Anoushbard continued with new members. Currently, the band is working on new songs and preparing for upcoming concerts.
